3 Face Masks

As we navigate the ever-expanding landscape of skincare rituals, the infusion of kaolin clay into face masks has emerged as a transformative trend, promising a spa-like experience in the comfort of your own home.

Kaolin, derived from the mineral-rich clay soils, has been cherished for centuries for its gentle yet powerful skincare properties. Recognized for its ability to absorb excess oil and impurities without stripping the skin of its natural moisture, kaolin clay has become the go-to ingredient for those seeking a radiant and revitalized complexion.

Here are 3 different types of face masks you can use on different occasions or use as a multi-mask on different areas of your face.

SOOTHING:

This mask is perfect to remove impurities but it is ultra gentle due to the oat and coconut powder. Activate this mask with rose hydrosol for a lovely scent.

PHASE INGREDIENT PERCENT
(%)
WEIGHT
(g)
Phase A White Kaolin Clay 40.00 12.00
Pink Clay 10.00 03.00
Coconut Milk Powder 30.00 9.00
Colloidal Oat Powder 20.00 06.00

EXFOLIATING:

This mask gently exfoliates the skin thanks to turmeric powder and jojoba beads. It has a lovely bright yellow colour, watch out for stains though! ;)

PHASE INGREDIENT PERCENT
(%)
WEIGHT
(g)
Phase A White Kaolin Clay 50.00 15.00
Coconut Milk Powder 25.00 07.50
Turmeric Powder 5.00 1.50
Jojoba Beads 20.00 06.00

MINERALISING:

This mask is oceanic superfood! Containing many essential minerals, kelp powder will support your skin to create a brighter complexion. I love the smell of seaweed as it makes me feel connected to the ocean and like I can harness its powers.

PHASE INGREDIENT PERCENT
(%)
WEIGHT
(g)
Phase A White Kaolin Clay 50.00 15.00
Blue Spirulina 5.00 01.50
Kelp Powder 45.00 13.50

METHOD

1- Measure and mix all powdered ingredients together.

2- For an even texture, grind together with a mortar and pestle.

3- Fill in jar of choice. If the opening is narrow, I found making a little funnel with a piece of paper works really well! Check out the video on how to do it (I show it when I made the third mask)

Please note: I should have said Coconut MILK powder as it is different from Coconut Powder from the meat of the coconut which would not be as fine and beneficial for the skin
It is important to keep the product away from humidity as much as possible or mould will start to form, especially since we are using Coconut Milk Powder in it.
