Winter Buttery Lotion

For this wintery buttery lotion we are using Sucragel as an emulsifier.

Although Sucragel is not traditionally used as an emulsifier, I thought it would be interesting to experiment with it. It feels counter intuitive to gel the oil and then add water to it after spending so much time on the gelling process but if you already have Sucragel and don’t want to buy another emulsifier then you could try this out!

I like that Sucragel already contains glycerin and so the final product is very moisturising, especially with some butters added to it.

Adiós dry legs!

Method

1- Start by gelling the oil. For that measure the Butters and Oils and melt them.

2- In the meantime measure the Sucragel in a separate beaker. When the butters have melted, add them slowly in the Sucragel to gel them up. Watch the video to see the step by step method.

2- When the butters have gelled up, add in Phase B in 3 parts while stirring in between.

3- Finally, add in Phase C when the emulsion has cooled off.
